Hi, I'm Rach.
I’m Rachel Hesketh, the artist behind Hart Studios. I create original paintings and commissions from my studio in Stoke-on-Trent. There’s a bit of everything here: abstracts, landscapes, figures, colour, collage. I enjoy the variety, so I haven’t made myself choose just one thing.
How Hart Studios started
I started Hart Studios in July 2025 because I wanted to explore my style and find my niche. I chose the name Hart because I knew I’d want to try other creative things too, and I didn’t want it tied to painting alone.
Commissions have become a big part of what I do. I love hearing an idea, talking it through and working out how to make it into something personal.
What I paint
There’s a bit of everything. Abstracts, landscapes, figures, colour and collage. Some paintings are bright and playful; others are quieter, or begin with a photo and a memory someone wants to keep.
I mostly use acrylics, with mixed media, collage and bits and bobs finding their way in too. If you’ve seen a few very different pieces on here and wondered whether they’re all mine, they are! That’s part of what I enjoy about it.
What I won't paint
Realistic portrait commissions. My figures and stylised work are a different thing, so if you’re not sure where your idea fits, send it over and I’ll be honest with you.
Prices, out loud
Every painting on the wall has its price on the label, and a commission is priced before I start. Send me a little about what you’re thinking and I can explain the options.
Where you'll find me
My work has been shown at Great Bear in Tunstall and at ACAVA at Spode, and I’ve run creative workshops for the Newcastle-under-Lyme BID. You’ll also find paintings, commissions and work in progress on my Instagram and TikTok.

- Say hello
Send your idea, any photos you want to use, a rough size and the date you have in mind.
- We talk it through
Colours, subject, where it will go and what’s possible. I’ll tell you if the idea falls outside what I can offer.
- A price and a date
I’ll explain the price, timing and payment before you decide to go ahead.
- I paint it
We’ll agree how I’ll keep you updated while it’s being painted.
- It arrives
Collected from the studio, or wrapped and posted. Then it’s on your wall.
Someone who came to look.
Meeting Rach and seeing her work up close gave me a whole new appreciation for her paintings. She's welcoming and passionate about what she does, and I left feeling inspired.
